nippon heartbeats faces of tokyo

After working on a series of cityscapes, I started doing quick 1~2 minute sketches of people while riding the subways and trains in Osaka and Tokyo. After doing more and more of them I found the act of drawing my fellow anonymous inhabitants during this brief chance encounter surprisingly intimate - and liked how it

related to general interactions between people in a metropole like Tokyo.

Looking and drawing sketches like that, I felt short but strong personal connections in this

sea of anonymity.
